Power Skating and Smooth Power | Ages 7-10
Our Power Skating Curriculum is a progression-based program designed to help players master the fundamentals of skating. Importantly, we have a keen focus on helping players synchronize hands and feet and spend a lot of time on helping players skate at full speed with puck on stick. Every session will marry a skating component (e.g., Arc Skating, Inside and Outside Edge, Crossovers with a stickhandling (e.g., Moves, Dekes and Fakes). Players will leave the program moving appreciably better and more comfortable and confident skating with their eyes up and puck on stick. Specific Skating Lessons include: Inside and Outside Edge; Arc Skating; Crossovers; Tight Turns; Cutbacks; Long Stride; and Backwards Skating.

Smooth Power is the natural progression to our Core Power Skating Curriculum. It is designed for players that have skated with us and favors a faster pace with more repetitions and more pucks on stick. Smooth Power to us is the combination of skating technique and speed with a high level of body control. Players that can master better efficiency (i.e., less effort (fewer strides) and better glide are able to find a higher gear (speed) while looking SMOOTH. Smooth Power disguises speed and is a high level of deception. Players who are able to skate in this manner are deceptively fast and difficult to defend.
