Long Stride MasterClass:
Players will be taught the proper mechanics of the Long Stride. Goal of the program is to increase speed by improving Push and Glide. Better Push and better Glide will result in greater efficiency: i.e., more speed with less effort. SMOOTH!!
Players will be taught Knee Bend; Ankle Flexion; Push; Glide; Upper Body Position. Drills are specifically designed to help players improve the length of their leg extension (less choppy) and thgeir leg recovery (address railroading or less than ideal return).
Every session will start with the Long Stride and we will progress into Stickhandling and Crossovers by the end of every session. Crossovers will focus on attacking into the Neutral Zone and Offensive Zone Entry. We will teach the skating mechanics and also help players understand where on the ice and when to implement the skill set.
